Grand Canyon & St. George, UT

I have lived in Arizona my whole life, and I lived in Flagstaff for two years and I have never been to the Grand Canyon. So before I leave for DC, my mom and I are driving up to the GC and meeting Ruth in Kanab, UT next Friday. That Saturday we will drive to St. George, UT to attend the temple there and perhaps to ride a pack mule ;), I mean a horse up to some canyon or something. Ruth found it and it all depends on if Mom thinks she can sit on a horse for 3 hours! :) Sad that it took 29 years before I made it to the GC, especially since I lived so close to it for two years. Oh, well, better late than never, huh?

Hawaii was amazingly beautiful! We had such a wonderful time and I definitely want to go back. It was amazing to see the variations in the landscape as we drove around the Big Island and then Oahu. The above picture is from the North Shore which is so beautiful, I want to go back and spend a couple of days just there! Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial was very touching. It is important to remember those who gave their lives in service and protection of this country. Visiting these places to pay our respect and to remember what America was built upon is so important. Too often we forget as we go through our daily lives that we allow little things to happen that take us further and further away from the founding principles of the United States.

Spending time with my parents was wonderful, since I will be moving shortly. We never know where life is going to take us and we need to cherish the time that we spend with loved ones, no matter how short a time we spend with them.

If you ever get a chance to visit Hawaii, take it! I think you'll really enjoy it!

Hawaii or Bust!!! It's time again for traveling...this time it's Hawaii, specifically Oahu and the Big Island. This time, my parents will be traveling with me. It will be nice to spend some time with them. When we go to the Big Island, we plan on seeing the volcano and attending the temple. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and so I'm really looking forward to this trip.

Next stop Hawaii!!!
