Visiting friend

So over the years throughout my travels, I've met some wonderful people.  And because I travel, I don't always get to see them again in person.  I met Uriah in Baghdad, Iraq and although we've emailed over the last couple of months, I hadn't seen him in almost a year and a half.

But luckily work brought him to Wellington and we got to catch up.  He is still as funny as ever and it was great to spend some quality time with him.  Friends make life better for sure!

Admirable

My friend Erica decided to learn to play the violin even though she's never played an instrument nor does she know how to read music!  Just after 10 weeks of practice, she played in the recital for the music school that she's been taking her lessons from.  Karin and I went to listen to her and for only 10 weeks of practice, she could play "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera.

Rugby

Susan is a new co-worker and we enjoy a lot of the same things.  So when another co-worker had tickets they couldn't use, we went.  The day was rainy, windy and cold so I prepared for the worst with blankets, extra jackets and everything!  Lol.

It was a lot of fun, even if the home-team lost.

I love spicy food!!!!

So I love to cook, and I love good food, and I LOVE spicy food!  So this recipe is a new "go to".  It is super easy and only has 4 ingredients!  It was SO good...but if I make this again for myself (which I will) I'll put more than 3 teaspoons of Sriracha sauce! :-)

Banana Splits

My friend Karnia's birthday was last week and so I had everyone come over for dinner and cake.  Well...we were supposed to just have banana splits and dinner, but I couldn't resist making a new recipe! :-)  But all the sauces on this were homemade!  Caramel (awesome recipe), chocolate and strawberry...Mmmmm...

Snickers cupcake

So my friend Karnia's birthday was coming up and she loves my baking, so I made a good old fashioned American candy-bar cupcakes!

Everybody enjoys a Snickers so who wouldn't want a Snicker-type cupcake?!?! 

So yummy!  So glad my friends have birthdays so I can enjoy some yummy cupcakes too!  Without feeling too guilty! ;-)
